Souderton Area SD board authorizes posting of 2627 proposed final budget

At a special meeting on May 13, the Souderton Area SD board voted to authorize the administration to finalize and publish the proposed 2627 general fund budget in the Pennsylvania Department of Education PD-208 format.
Dr. Anson, speaking for the administration, said the board's action would allow district staff to prepare the PD-208 and make the proposed final budget available online. "Your action tonight will direct the administration to make that proposed final budget document, which Mister Taylor will then develop on our website on the form required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education," Dr. Anson said.
The clerk clarified the procedural requirement for the action. "It's the budget form that's required by the state of Pennsylvania to make available for public inspection," the clerk said, adding that the board needs five affirmative votes tonight to authorize the posting. The clerk warned that without five affirmative votes the board would need to reconvene in another special meeting and must wait at least 30 days before adopting the final budget.
The motion to authorize completion and posting of the PD-208 was moved by Miss Seppute and seconded by Mister Barnes. The chair called the vote; members voiced "Aye," and the chair said the motion passed unanimously.
Dr. Anson thanked the board and said Mister Taylor will post the PD-208 as prepared. He told the board the administration plans to present a balanced budget for the board's vote at the June action meeting.
No members of the public spoke during the meeting's public comment period, and the chair adjourned the special session.
