At its May 18 meeting the Wilson School Board approved multiple finance and procurement items, including a $1.9 million transfer from the general fund to the capital reserves fund as budgeted for FY2025–26.
During the finance block, the board approved payment of bills as presented with a roll call of seven yes and one abstention (Mrs. Casper). The board later approved financial reports, budget transfers for April 2026, the $1,900,000 transfer to capital reserves and awarded bids for art, music, science, technology and fall athletic supplies; those items passed by roll call 8–0.
Operations and procurement approvals earlier in the meeting included a $53,190 purchase of a Ricoh PRO C7500 for central duplication from Stratix Systems (paid from capital reserves) and approvals for gates and site preparation costs at various schools. Food service items were approved with no meal price increase for 2026–27 and the board agreed to buy a new Hobart conveyor dish machine for Chiat Low Elementary using capital funds.
One trustee asked whether bottled water could be included with student lunches; trustees noted federal nutrition guidelines and cost differences between milk and bottled water. Administration encouraged families who may qualify for free or reduced‑price meals to contact the district for assistance.
All financial approvals were recorded in roll‑call votes or, where indicated, voice votes; the board approved the transfer of $1.9 million to capital reserves as budgeted.
