The Hamburg Area School District board approved a comprehensive personnel slate at its April 27 meeting, including resignations, transfers, new temporary professional hires, extra-curricular appointments and district volunteers.
The minutes record separations including resignations by Mary Burkert (athletics game help), Susan Snyder (Tilden Elementary food service, effective June 5, 2026) and Amanda Wrona (Tilden Elementary classroom teacher, effective June 5, 2026). The minutes also list the death of Director of Food Services David Shefter, effective April 14, 2026; the district recorded that event in the personnel section of the minutes.
The board approved transfers and assignments effective Aug. 18, 2026, and accepted several temporary professional employment offers starting Aug. 18, 2026, with an annual salary noted in the minutes as $53,163 (Bachelor/Step 1). Those appointments include Katelyn Folweiler (Middle School English Language Arts), Taylor Henn (Perry Elementary), Katelyn Price (High School English Language Arts), Ashley Ryan (Perry Elementary) and Kamryn Smith (Tilden Elementary). Donna Wertz was listed as assistant coach for high-school field hockey with a stipend of $1,475 (Step 3), effective April 28, 2026.
District volunteers presented for approval included Jeremy Cosper; Amber Dewire; Angela Heffner; Amelia Rivera; Janelly RodriguezDiaz; Dayna Strunk; and Abygail Wolf. A single motion to approve the personnel slate was made by Birgit White and seconded by Vice President Thomas DeAngelo; the roll call recorded eight yes votes and no opposition.
Separately, the board approved one-time stipend payments for employees who assumed additional responsibilities in the food-service department during the absence of a director: Lisa Eisenhower (High School Kitchen Manager) was approved for a $9,000 stipend, Tara Ulrich (Interim High School Kitchen Manager) for $900, and Janise Parker (Accounting Clerk) for $1,200. The minutes state those payments were to be made in two equal installments on May 1 and June 12, 2026. That stipend motion was moved by Daniel Sarna and seconded by Laura "Lolly" Lesher and recorded as carried by the vote shown in the minutes.
The board adjourned at 6:52 p.m.
