Student representative reports active clubs, upcoming blood drive and spring events

Katelyn Hartrum, the student representative to the Wilson Area School District board, reported on March 16 that student clubs and activities remain active and listed several upcoming events.
Hartrum said the Service Club is decorating spring‑themed cards for residents at New Eastwood Healthcare & Rehab Center and organizing a food drive in conjunction with Liberty High School that will accept cold items such as milk and eggs. The Engineering and Design Club is continuing work on Top Ten Awards; the Journalism Club took photos for the yearbook, which the club decided to dedicate to Mrs. Everett. The Senior Class is selling tickets for a "Pie a Teacher" fundraiser. Buddies Club will host a volleyball day for IU students. Key Club hosted a guest speaker about organizing a book drive. The National Honor Society is planning an induction ceremony and a second blood drive is scheduled for the end of April. Hartrum reported that the Debate Team had its second round of competition and that Student Council will host an Easter Skate and egg hunt at Bushkill Park on March 22, with IU students assisting in filling eggs.
Separately, Director of Student Services Laura Samson requested board approval of the district's K‑12 School Counseling Plan (Chapter 339), which was on the consent agenda and subsequently approved by the board.
