Keizer Community Library wins state approval; council and volunteers praised effort

Representatives of the Keizer Community Library told council the Oregon State Library Board unanimously approved Keizer Community Library as a public library in Oregon.
BJ Tully, speaking for the library board, said the board and many volunteers worked years to reach this milestone and highlighted the formation of a Friends of the Library group and strong community fundraising: "We are obviously thrilled beyond words to have this accomplishment after years of working toward it," Tully said. The board is waiting on federal 501(c)(3) status and expects summer reading and other public programs to expand under public‑library status.
Council members congratulated the volunteers and encouraged residents to visit and support the library’s summer reading and programming.
