Staff explained the agreement will fund the city’s share of a county-led resurfacing/reconstruction and grinding (cold milling) effort on identified corridors near the jurisdiction boundary. Councilmembers asked technical questions about the cold mill (grinding the top surface prior to repaving) and whether sewer and utility work would be sequenced to avoid re‑digging recently repaved segments; staff confirmed the county is leading the project and will contribute most funding.
The motion to authorize the agreement was moved and seconded and passed with five affirmative votes.
What’s next: City staff will execute the amendment and coordinate construction sequencing with the county.
