Rovers said the project is approximately 36% complete and that roughly 2% of the contingency fund has been used to address unforeseen conditions discovered when walls were opened. He described poured concrete for locker-room floors, the surge tank being fully poured, ongoing interior plumbing and electrical rough‑ins, and exterior framing where brickwork will follow in the coming weeks. "We've used about 2% of the contingency fund," Rovers said, adding that some unanticipated items arose from existing building conditions when work began.
Rovers described the pool excavation and the concrete work timeline: pool concrete pours take about six weeks, after which crews will be able to resume more visible site work. He said exterior utilities work will begin after school lets out and that the project remains on track for the district's schedule with key design and bid milestones planned for the summer; the district is tracking early spring 2027 for the next major phase.
Board members asked about potential cost surcharges related to fuel or materials; Rovers said he was not aware of additional surcharges and that much material has already been purchased and is in storage. He reported good progress overall and said more visible exterior work will resume after certain site work is scheduled.
