The board recessed briefly so staff could consult the county solicitor and prepare resolution language, then returned to the meeting to vote.
"I move we adopt resolution 5 to increase the mileage rate for, [nonemployee] workers," said Chris, who made the motion. The chair seconded. The clerk called the roll; the transcript records affirmative votes as "Commissioner Gogler — Yes" and "Commissioner Sadat — Yes." The motion carried.
According to the resolution language presented, the new reimbursement rate corresponds to the current IRS rate and will apply to this election and the November election. The chair said the board may revisit the rate if the IRS updates it again.
The board recessed to the call of the chair after completing its business; the resolution will be circulated for record keeping and distribution to election staff and payroll as appropriate.
