"With tonight's human resources action item, we are welcoming some new members to our school community," the superintendent said during the HR report.

Dr. Everslott said Whalen "has served a high‑school community with distinction since 2007," noting roles as teacher, department chair and interim principal. Whalen thanked the board and said she is "eager to build upon the foundation to move our school forward."
On policy, the board approved the second reading and final adoption of policy 237, on personal electronic devices; several other policy revisions were advanced as first readings.
Other approved items included special services actions (homebound tutor assignments and a settlement agreement), facility bids (painting and flooring) and an allowance adjustment for the Simmons elevator project; the board also voted to reject bids for a partial roof replacement at the high school. Most motions were approved by voice vote with no opposition recorded; nine board members were noted present at roll call.
