Administration said the traffic engineer for Penn Township recommended the 24‑hour near‑miss study as a first step, and that if the analysis showed systemic issues, the district would pursue further conversations with Penn Township and PennDOT — including potential cost‑sharing for follow‑on engineering work.
Members discussed timing (school‑year traffic patterns versus start‑of‑year changes) and affirmed the district should prioritize capturing a representative weekday when seniors are still in session. The committee agreed the study is a prudent step to gather objective data to inform any future requests to township or state traffic authorities.
