Dan Sutton, president and chief executive officer of Kemba Credit Union, told the council the company signed a multiyear lease for the downtown 630 Building and plans renovations with an intended opening by September.
"I am the president and chief executive officer, for Kemba Credit Union," Sutton said, adding that Kemba acquired a local credit union three years ago and later expanded eligibility to residents and employees across several counties. He said the downtown lease and planned renovations demonstrate the credit union’s commitment to Richmond residents and members.
Sutton described Kemba’s product mix — savings, checking, consumer and mortgage loans — and said staff and the board chairman, Tom Thole, were in attendance to show institutional commitment. He invited council members to ask questions; council members thanked him for the investment and welcomed the institution to the community.
