Saint Croix Central board elects officers, approves fees and routine business

The Saint Croix Central School District Board completed its annual reorganization and routine business at the May 18 meeting, electing Jeff Redmond as board president and reappointing other officers, approving consent agenda items and several administrative fees.
The board received nominations and elected Jeff Redmond president by voice vote after a motion to close nominations; the meeting chair turned leadership to the newly elected president. The board then reappointed Lance as vice president, Brad as board clerk and Dave as treasurer by motion and voice vote.
Administrators presented the measures report (bank balances as of April 30, 2026), and the consent agenda (minutes, bills and curricular items) was approved. The board received a student enrollment update showing a net increase of five students since last month and noted the virtual charter school at 342 students.
On financial housekeeping, the board approved several fee changes: student parking will increase $10 to $20; music course fees for certain classes increase $15; and Math 225 increases $20. The district also approved a proposed 10¢ increase for breakfast and lunch prices after a presentation from Chartwells and administration.
Building usage and auditorium fee changes were tabled for further work. The board designated Citizens State Bank as the official depository (discussing collateral and FDIC coverage for public funds) and reappointed the Hudson Star Observer as the district’s official newspaper. Several policy items on second reading (items F through J) were approved collectively. The board set meeting dates with an effort to avoid conflicts with school events and reviewed upcoming events including teacher/staff meetings and graduation on May 28.
The meeting concluded with a motion and roll call to enter closed session under Wisconsin statute as read on the record to consider personnel and other permitted matters.
