Eagle Mountain‑Saginaw Board swears in two trustees and elects officers

The Eagle Mountain‑Saginaw Independent School District board opened its May 18 meeting by swearing in Ron Franklin and Blake Mabry as trustees for Place 6 and Place 7. Franklin and Mabry each repeated the oath of office to uphold federal and state constitutions and the district’s duties.
The swearing‑in preceded a brief recess and the board’s reorganization. Trustee Blake Mabry moved that Steve Newcomb serve as board president, Paige Ring as vice president and Dr. Marilyn Tolbert as secretary; the motion was seconded and carried on a voice/hand vote. President Newcomb thanked Dr. Tolbert for her two years of leadership as outgoing president.
The board’s action followed standard reorganization procedures after an election. No motions to oppose or amend the slate were made during the public vote. The board then proceeded with scheduled reports and agenda items for the evening.
