Commission approves two small residential annexations for Anthony Thomas Melfi Jr.
Summary
The commission approved annexation and GR-5 zoning for two small parcels (Pointer Drive and 228 Wilson Drive) submitted by Anthony Thomas Melfi Jr.; both requests were described as seeking town zoning equivalent to existing county R-2 and were driven by sewer service connections.

The Planning Commission voted May 18 to approve two annexations submitted by Anthony Thomas Melfi Jr. The two parcels are TMS 1530303002 (Pointer Drive, ~0.44 acres) and TMS 1361507009 (228 Wilson Drive, ~0.49 acres). Staff explained both properties are currently zoned R-2 in Dorchester County and the applicant requested GR-5 (general residential, 5 units per acre) upon annexation to the town to match the county entitlements.
Staff said the reason for annexation is sewer service: both lots are served by Summerville CPW and annexation is required to bring them into the town municipal limits for service conformity. There were no public commenters signed up for either hearing. Commissioners moved and approved both annexations by voice vote.
The Commission’s approval forwards the annexations to the town council as part of routine land-use processing; staff noted the public hearings for these parcels had already occurred earlier in the meeting.
