The Wright County Board of Commissioners authorized signatures on a settlement agreement and stipulation for dismissal in the county’s pending lawsuit against the Minnesota Department of Corrections following a closed-door session held under Minnesota Statute 13D.05, subdivision 3(b).
Chair Darek Vetsch recessed the public meeting into closed session to discuss the litigation and, upon reconvening at 9:50 a.m., the board voted to approve the settlement and to authorize County Administrator Greg Kryzer to take all actions necessary to implement the agreement. The motion was made by Commissioner Kirby Moynagh and seconded by Commissioner Jeanne Holland; the vote was 4–0 with Commissioner Tina Diedrick absent.
Commissioner Moynagh thanked county staff for their work on the matter, and Chair Vetsch expressed appreciation for Moynagh’s efforts. Kryzer acknowledged the assistance of State Senators John Hoffman and Michael Holstrom during the process. The board did not provide details of the settlement terms in the public session.
