Kenosha County Board refers appointments and resolutions to committees, approves minutes and adjourns

At its May 5 meeting, the Kenosha County Board of Supervisors referred four County Executive appointments and several committee communications (including a parks plan, an easement, a parcel-transfer agreement and a Pride Month resolution) to standing committees, approved prior minutes and adjourned.
The Kenosha County Board of Supervisors convened its regular meeting on May 5, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the County Board Chambers. Chairman Nordigian called the meeting to order and the clerk recorded 21 supervisors present and two excused.
Chairman Nordigian announced that the 2027 Budget Vision Session was rescheduled to June 4 and invited supervisors to a post-meeting chairman’s reception. He also welcomed Youth in Governance members Jessica Camacho, assigned to the Human Services Committee, and Dylan Hood, assigned to the Judiciary & Law Enforcement Committee.
The board handled a series of appointments and referrals. Chairman Nordigian announced a County Board chairman appointment of John Poole to the Kenosha Joint Services Board and referred that appointment to the Judiciary & Law Enforcement Committee. The board also recorded four County Executive appointments and referred each to the appropriate standing committee: Erin Pugh to the Kenosha County Zoning Board of Adjustments (referred to the Planning, Development & Extension Education Committee); Rebecca Dutter as Director of Human Services (referred to the Human Services Committee); Shelly Billingsley as Director of Public Works and Development Services (referred to the Public Works & Facilities Committee); and Paul Tollard as an alternate on the Southeastern Wisconsin Fox River Commission (referred to the Planning, Development & Extension Education Committee).
The board received communications from committees and supervisors and referred them for committee review. A Public Works/Facilities Committee communication proposing adoption of the Kenosha County Parks Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan was referred back to Public Works/Facilities. A separate resolution authorizing execution of a gas valve assembly easement in Brighton Dale Park was referred to both the Public Works/Facilities and Finance/Administration Committees. Supervisors Knezz and Kirby submitted a resolution recognizing June 2026 as Pride Month, which Chairman Nordigian referred to the Human Services Committee. The board also referred a Public Works/Facilities communication proposing an intergovernmental agreement to transfer a parcel for Roosevelt Auto Body at 2907 63rd St. to the Public Works/Facilities and Finance/Administration Committees.
On a procedural motion, Supervisor Knezz moved and Supervisor Decker seconded approval of the April 21, 2026 Annual and Organizational County Board minutes; the motion passed on a voice vote. Supervisor Stocker moved and Supervisor Robinson seconded a motion to adjourn; the board adjourned at 7:05 p.m. on a voice vote.
