Isanti County board approves agenda addition, contracts and multiple sponsorship resolutions in unanimous votes

At its May 5 meeting the Isanti County Board unanimously approved routine and contract items: soliciting proposals for a County Surveyor, a $11,464.44 GIS database conversion, three snowmobile‑trail sponsorship resolutions, utility permits, claims totaling $94,230.11, dust control and a park restroom contract.
The Isanti County Board of Commissioners met May 5 in the Government Center Board Room and unanimously approved a series of routine motions and contracts, including a solicitation for a County Surveyor, a database conversion for the county GIS system and multiple sponsorship resolutions for local snowmobile trails.
Commissioner Christensen moved, seconded by Commissioner Westerberg, to approve the agenda with the addition of item A‑4 to solicit proposals for a County Surveyor to finish the current term ending Dec. 31, 2026; the board approved the motion unanimously. The board also voted to accept a ProWest quote of $11,464.44 to perform a database conversion with Tyler Technology to continue county GIS services for staff and public use, to be paid from Compliance Funds.
The consent agenda, approved by motion, included approval of the April 21, 2026 meeting minutes; personnel actions (the hire of Tricia Anderson as full‑time Zoning Administrative II effective May 14, 2026; the internal promotion of Curtis Cook to Assistant County Attorney II effective May 20, 2026; and several employees moved from probationary to regular status effective in late April and early May); three resolutions authorizing Isanti County to sponsor DNR snowmobile‑trail grant applications for the Cambridge/Weber/Stark/Isanti, Grandy‑Bock and Mystic Trails (authored as Resolutions 2026‑008, 2026‑009 and 2026‑010); approval of Long Lake Lutheran Church gambling activities for Sept. 11–12, 2026; final plat approval for West Side Commercial 2nd Addition; a suite of utility permits for Connexus Energy, East Central Energy and CenterPoint Energy; and claims and warrants totaling $94,230.11.
Separately, the board approved an annual dust‑control contract with Central Minnesota Dust Control LLC for application of magnesium chloride at $1.35 per gallon on 11.6 miles of county gravel roads. The board also awarded the low bid to Bob Pankan & Sons for $5,190 to construct a concrete apron and walkway to the Springvale Park restroom; that work will be funded through the Park Legacy Grant.
All recorded motions at the meeting carried unanimously. The board adjourned at 10:35 a.m.
