Londonderry robotics team recognized after top‑6% finish and trip to world championships

The Londonderry board heard a presentation and demonstration from the high school competitive robotics team May 19.
Bridal, the team’s lead coach, said the team placed in the top 6% of teams worldwide this season and competed at the world championships. Student leaders described building four iterations of the robot and building an auto-scoring feature using cameras and AprilTags. Team lead programmer Ben Simpson credited the program with influencing his decision to commit to Purdue for computer science.
The coach said the program operates on about $49,000 a year, funded through registration support from the district, private corporate sponsorships in southern New Hampshire, and a 501(c)(3) booster club (the Londonderry Area Foundation for STEM Education). The board thanked the team and asked to take photos after the demonstration.
