After convening in a closed session under MCL 15.268(1)(a), the Gladwin City Council on May 4 voted to accept and file a consolidated performance evaluation of the City Administrator.
City Administrator Kimberly Hines requested that the performance review be conducted in closed session; the council moved into closed session in the early evening. Mayor Sarah Kile said she would sit out the closed-session discussion and stated she would not run for mayor again.
When the council returned to open session at 7:49 p.m., a motion by Council Member Darlington, supported by Council Member Winarski, to accept and file the consolidated performance evaluation (compiled from eight or nine anonymous council-member evaluations dated May 4, 2026) passed unanimously.
Ending: The council took no additional personnel actions in open session; the accepted evaluation was filed in the administrator’s personnel record as stated in the motion.
