The Greenville City Council on May 11 voted unanimously to authorize an application for the Delta Workforce Grant to support a proposed Greenville Workforce & Innovation Hub.
Bettdonna Mack of Senior Services told the council the grant program “is intended to support workforce development efforts and create opportunities for job training, innovation, and economic growth within the community.” She advised the council that the City will apply for $210,000.
Councilmembers approved Resolution 2026-35 with no recorded opposition. Mayor Jae’Ques Brown and council members noted the city’s interest in workforce initiatives but did not add fiscal commitments beyond authorizing the application during this meeting.
The resolution allows city staff to pursue grant funding; staff will return with details if the application is successful or if matching funds are required.
