The KIPP Texas Board of Directors on May 7 tabled consideration of a resolution to approve a contingent-fee legal services contract and a request for expedited review by the Texas attorney general.
Board chair Darla Whitaker introduced the item and described it as a resolution approving a contingent-fee legal services contract, including the findings needed for submission and a request for expedited Texas attorney general review.
A board member moved, "I move that we table consideration of that particular request," and another board member seconded. The chair called for a voice vote and confirmed the motion to table was approved by unanimous vote. No substantive discussion of the contract terms or the grounds for expedited review is recorded in the public portions of the meeting.
The board did not adopt the resolution at this meeting and indicated the item would be brought back at another time. The meeting adjourned shortly after the vote.
