Resident urges council to accelerate affordable-housing efforts

"We are supposed to have a certain percentage, I believe 8%, affordable housing in the city," Olinik said, adding that she believes Park Ridge currently is “around 6%.” The speaker urged the council to act before the city faces a state audit of its affordable-housing implementation and said the issue affects residents’ ability to continue living in Park Ridge without excessive cost burdens.
Council members did not take action during the meeting; the comment was recorded as part of the public-comment period and was acknowledged by the chair before the meeting proceeded to other business.
