Scotland affirms interlocal revenue-collection move; approves bridge inspection, reviews solar plans and landfill permits

At its April 21 meeting, the Board of Selectmen discussed several administrative and infrastructure items. The board reviewed a resolution authorizing the town to enter an interlocal agreement with the towns of Canterbury and Hampton for shared revenue-collection services; the resolution had been approved at a special town meeting on April 14 and the board said the arrangement would help avoid problems like those recently reported in the Town of Windham.
The board reported that SLR was chosen by a narrow margin to perform inspections on the Brook Road bridges. Town staff also said the town has received building plans for a proposed solar array on Gager Hill Road and is reviewing those plans.
The town clerk is selling landfill-sticker permits for $25 per household (office hours listed in the minutes). The board encouraged resident participation and noted the community center remains run by volunteers and available for rental through the town office.
