He recounted kindergarten welcome activities and a well-attended elementary field day on May 12, highlighted strong I-Ready growth metrics and junior-high 'Shark Tank' student projects, and reviewed high school graduation and related honors. Dr. Filipiak acknowledged a bilingual family registration meeting that drew more than 30 families and said the new director of student services, Janet Diaz, participated and made valuable connections.
Dr. Filipiak also read a list of retirees and thanked staff members who have given years of service to the district. He reminded trustees that registration for the 2026–27 school year is open and wished graduates and students well for finals.
