The Scofield Town Council on April 17 tabled a decision on contracting with Lantis Production for a July 2027 fireworks show, saying Lantis will know its 2027 costs after July 1, 2026.
Councilmember Kim Erikkila moved to change the date of the town’s fireworks show to Friday, July 3, 2026; Ralph Brinkerhoff seconded the motion and the council voted unanimously to approve the date change. The council noted that $12,000 has been approved for fireworks in 2026 and that fireworks costs have risen about 15–18% since the previous year.
The contract decision for 2027 with Lantis Production was tabled until the July 2026 meeting to allow the vendor to provide updated pricing after July 1. No contract with Lantis Production was executed at the April 17 meeting.
The council adjourned at 11:10 a.m.
