Staff explained the program offers three coverage levels, including a school-day option and a $24.07 accident insurance tier, plus a football-only coverage option. "If the family is interested in purchasing it, what they would do is we're going to have a link that will be on our website. There is an application that the families would have to fill out," staff said, adding the program functions as reimbursement coverage to supplement existing medical insurance.
Staff described several outreach channels to increase uptake: adding the option to student registration and the annual update, including the information in biweekly newsletters, sending principal welcome-packet notices at the start of the year and sharing details via PTA council.
Board members and staff characterized the insurance as voluntary and a gap (reimbursement) product, and staff said they will add enrollment information to registration and online materials so families can access the application.
