Lincoln Heights schedules neighborhood cleanup and June town hall on land-use plan

Staff member announced a Village of Lincoln Heights cleanup day on Saturday, May 23 from 8 a.m. until noon (or until containers fill). Three dumpster containers will be placed in the municipal service yard for residents to dispose of tires, furniture and other acceptable items; an intake form and proof of residency (driver' s license, utility bill) will be required. "If we can't clearly see that you are a resident...we won't have that here," Staff member said, explaining the verification procedure.
Staff member said a list of unacceptable items will be published via village communications and mailings, and staff will be on hand to assist residents who need help unloading. The cleanup effort is intended to reduce unsanctioned dumping and support code-enforcement work.
Separately, Staff member said the village will host a public town hall on land-use recommendations on Wednesday, June 10 at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers to explain proposed updates to the master plan (the last master plan on record dates from 1971) and to collect resident input before steering-committee recommendations move toward any vote. Staff member asked that the item be announced widely so residents can review proposals ahead of any council vote.
