Chair (speaker 1) said the board had previously approved putting the question before voters and that the only change reflected in the current resolution is setting the election date to Nov. 3. "There's no other changes to it. It's still just putting a question before the public so that it can be back on the ballot," the chair said.
Commissioners moved and approved the resolution without any recorded changes to the ballot language; staff confirmed the item did not make the May ballot previously because of timing. The resolution directs county elections staff to place the question on the Nov. 3 ballot for voters in unincorporated Pickens County.
Next steps: county staff will coordinate with the elections office to finalize ballot placement and any related public notices. The board’s action was recorded in the meeting minutes.
