The Community Preservation Committee discussed office staffing, digitization of records and expanded outreach at its May 19 meeting.
Chair reported the committee had offered the office position to a preferred candidate who later declined; the second candidate was being offered the position with an anticipated June start. Members said the committee had agreed the position likely needs more hours than the current 19.5 hours a week and discussed training, scanning and organizing files to bring the office up to date.
Committee members said the town’s HR and administration had offered centralized support, including standardized agenda templates and media‑department assistance for posting materials. "They will put everything together," a committee member said of the town administrator's office, noting that the new administrator would work directly with town staff on communications and that the committee would continue to supply content.
Members also urged resuming public engagement tools: a newsletter showing 'your CPC funds at work' and an annual public forum to explain eligibility and application procedures to prospective applicants. The Chair said project managers would be assigned for the upcoming funding cycle and staff would prepare necessary lists and materials.
