Prince, the facilities/operations presenter, summarized the proposal and its scope, saying the cross‑divisional effort ‘‘will be led by members of our operations team working in conjunction with members of our academics division’’ and that the audit will cover visual arts, theater, orchestra, chorus, dance, band and piano. He said the request is to ‘‘remove $300,000 from residual funds from closed out capital projects to a new account for funding this initial phase of our project.’’
Prince moved the committee to approve hiring a consultant for the study; a second was made and the committee approved the motion by voice vote. Prince said the item will appear as both a discussion and business item at the full board meeting on June 8.
The committee did not specify consultant firms or a contract amount beyond the $300,000 allocation during the meeting. Committee members offered no substantive changes to scope during the discussion; the motion passed by voice vote.
