The Lemont Village Board approved a set of capital project contracts on March 23, awarding the Public Works Annex site improvements to McGill Construction for $625,831.38 and authorizing replacement of the aging HVAC system at the old police station with a low quote of $239,700 from GT Mechanical.
Ralph (speaker 9), who presented the Public Works Annex item, described phase 4 work at Derby and Archer that includes blacktop, concrete curbs, site lighting and landscaping. "The new number is going to be $625,831.38, and that's for McGill Construction who was the low bidder," he said. The board approved the resolution (R-23-26) by roll call.
On a separate resolution (R-24-26) the board authorized HVAC replacement at 416 Main Street, noting the current boiler is roughly 50 years old. Ralph said asbestos remediation and roofing work are separate and "very, very minimal." The low quote for HVAC replacement was $239,700 from GT Mechanical; trustees approved the motion by roll call.
Meeting minutes show both items were discussed previously at the Committee of the Whole and were presented with staff recommendations to proceed. The contracts will proceed to implementation per normal public-works procurement and project-management steps.
