Chickasaw County adopts weight‑limit signs for four local bridges

The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors on May 11 unanimously adopted RESOLUTION 05-11-26-29 directing the county to erect weight‑limit and one‑lane/narrow signs for four bridges on the local secondary road system. The board cited engineering recalculations of safe load capacity and acted under Sections 321.471, 321.472 and 321.473 of the Code of Iowa.

The resolution states the changes follow the county's inspection process for bridges and structures on the secondary road system and directs sign erection in advance of the affected structures. A detailed copy of the resolution is filed with the county auditor's office and posted on the county website.
