At the April 27 meeting, Transit Manager Barb Newman said running the twice‑monthly Silver Maple route would be difficult during road construction and could be suspended for up to eight scheduled runs. Chairman Marvin Anderson moved to suspend the route and Lenore Lopez seconded. The minutes record the motion and second but do not record a vote or final outcome.
Later in the meeting commissioners discussed several paid voucher forms. Newman explained the 3/10/26 voucher and reviewed additional paid voucher forms dated 3/24/26 and 4/14/26. Richard Logan moved to approve the vouchers with Dawn Winquist seconding, but after considerable discussion about whether the commission should formally approve vouchers or merely accept them into the minutes—and after a cited conversation with the Oneida County Corporation Counsel—the motion was withdrawn by Logan and Winquist. The minutes note the corporation counsel compared the situation to a department head requesting payment and reiterated that the commission exercises oversight through two required check signatures, a signature on the voucher form and paid month voucher reports.
The minutes do not record numeric vote tallies for the Silver Maple motion nor for the voucher approval motion. Commissioners listed follow-up agenda items including an update on a meeting with the City of Rhinelander and the open records request from Grant Bornbach. The next meeting is scheduled for May 18, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.
