Norwich honors H. Tucker Braddock Jr. with proclamation for decades of community service

The Norwich City Council presented a proclamation honoring H. Tucker Braddock Jr. for nearly two decades of civic service and for efforts to revitalize the Norwich Harbor. Mayor Swarangeet Singh read the proclamation noting Braddock’s service on the City Council (2009–2017), Harbor Management Commission, Public Parking Commission and other boards, and credited Braddock with helping secure more than $1,000,000 in state grant approvals for the harbor.
Braddock accepted the proclamation and thanked the many volunteers and commission members who have supported the harbor’s work. “I accept this proclamation on behalf of a lot of people who, over the years, have helped me tremendously,” he said, singling out his wife Elizabeth and the Harbor Management Commission for their work.
The presentation included a city flag and an opportunity for each council member to read a paragraph of the proclamation; a group photo followed. The council used the moment to highlight volunteerism and long-term civic engagement in Norwich.
