Lawmakers confirm a slate of nominees to boards and commissions

Madam Clerk announced roll-call and voice votes as the body considered nominations from several committees. Louis R. Baza was placed in the voting file for the Civil Service Commission and later received majority support and confirmation. In a roll-call announced by the clerk, Sarah G. Elmore Hernandez was confirmed as Director of the Bureau of Women's Affairs with a reported 13 yeas. Several other nominees were reported by the presiding officer and clerk as having received majority support and being duly confirmed, including Justin D'Aguerra, Lillian Gill, Ronnie R. Guerrero, J.B. Jones, James Robert Kelly, Annie M. Makepeace, Olin McElligot, Clifton Samuel Thomas Neduduk, Domingo L. Ocampo, Frank P. Areola, Ramona M. Dohmen, and May A. Camacho.
The confirmations followed motions from committee chairs to place nominations into the voting file and routine voting procedures; the body then returned to motions and subsequent business.
The confirmations will take effect according to the applicable appointment rules for each agency and board.
