The Northridge Local School District Board of Education voted 4-0 on May 19 to adopt a district artificial intelligence policy and to authorize the treasurer to post public notice of a hearing on the board’s intent to consider reemployment of Mr. Bloom.
Superintendent described the AI policy as "a large piece of document" the district must have in place and credited district staff for development. A board member volunteered to serve on a committee to work on policy implementation.
On the reemployment matter, the board approved a resolution directing the treasurer to post notice of the public hearing; the transcript shows the board set the public hearing for June 8, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the district office and listed a retirement effective date of July 31, 2026, for Mr. Bloom.
Outcome and next steps: the district will post the public hearing notice and proceed with the scheduled hearing; the AI policy will move to implementation with a volunteer committee to monitor development and implementation.
