County approves DOT agreements and buys Freightliner dump truck for $351,621.81

The engineering representative also said the bridge overlay project (Bridge 18‑10) is estimated at about $232,000 and will be funded from the county bridge program.
On equipment, the engineer presented three quotes and recommended the low Freightliner bid from Truck Country at $351,621.81. The engineer explained maintenance and operational reasons for preferring the Freightliner and noted the county budget included approximately $380,000 for FY‑27 equipment. The board approved the Freightliner purchase by motion (vote 4–0; Supervisor Scott absent).
The board also approved a wage increase for equipment operator Austin Reichs to $26.64 per hour effective May 24, 2026, to reflect the 6‑month contract step.
