The Lucas County Board of Supervisors approved an employment contract for County Engineer Todde Folkerts on April 6, 2026, effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029. The contract sets a FY2026/2027 base salary of $146,300 and specifies that the salary will increase annually by the amount granted to secondary road department employees or by a minimum of 4% of the current year's base salary, whichever is greater.
Supervisors also voted to accept the FY27 Secondary Roads Budget and to approve submission of the Secondary Roads Five-Year Program to the Iowa Department of Transportation for FY27. The actions were moved and seconded and carried by unanimous vote of the supervisors present.
The contract and budget acceptance were recorded as motions in the meeting minutes; the transcript does not include additional terms of the contract beyond salary and the three-year term nor a line-item breakout of the secondary roads budget in the minutes. The board adjourned sine die following these actions.
