The Robertson County Commission used its May 18 session to clear a package of routine and administrative matters, approving a zoning change, several finance and personnel resolutions, multiple board nominations and a surplus‑property declaration.
Zoning: Hunter, a zoning office staffer, presented Resolution 051826041 to rezone 5.4 surveyed acres of an 8.3‑acre parcel at 5369 Hooks Branch Road from AGT to RP‑80. The planning commission had recommended approval 5–0; no members of the public spoke and the commission approved the rezoning by voice vote.
Jury software: A resolution (051826044) to purchase jury‑selection software was presented as a clerk‑funded item to improve jury management and accessibility; the commission approved the purchase and the chair noted it would assist with upcoming trials and ADA needs.
Pay adjustments: Resolution 051826045 authorized wage adjustments for two criminal control officers to address pay inequities and recruitment/retention concerns. The resolution listed a $54,019 total cost to bring those positions to a suggested living‑wage level; the commission approved the change and several speakers praised department staff.
Boards and appointments: The commission placed a slate of nominees for the equalization board (Bob Lipscomb, David Lee, David Love, Doug Aldridge and Jack Hollingsworth) on file and nominated Renee Ray Davis to the library board for a three‑year term. Commissioner Hogan recommended approval of several notary applications for Robertson County; the commission voted in favor.
Surplus property: Commissioner Dr. Martin presented Resolution 051826049 to declare six school buses and one vehicle surplus from the Roberts Academy/school transportation fleet, effective 05/11/2026; that resolution passed.
Most of these measures were presented by committee chairs or staff, were moved and seconded on the floor, and were recorded as passed by voice vote with the chair giving reported tallies (commonly noted as 13–4–0 in the meeting record). The meeting did not record roll‑call vote breakdowns by individual commissioners for these items.
The commission adjourned routine business and reminded commissioners of upcoming budget meetings and graduation events.
