"Last year, we had over 700 families, friends, and community come through," Cruikshank said, describing the event's growth from a small gathering to a large community resource. The organization provides helpline support, workshops and youth-in-transition services for people from birth through age 26.
Lowe said Include NYC fields multilingual supports, a helpline (about 3,200 calls last year), and provides workshops interpreted in multiple languages. The event will feature community partners, local artists, sports and arts activities, a Quiet Corner by the New York Public Library, and free family services.
Organizers emphasized free access: "All our services are free," Cruikshank said. Families were encouraged to register but told they could also attend without preregistration.
The event aims to connect families to services, provide advocacy support and offer recreational, sensory-friendly programming in a welcoming park environment.
