Commission signs on to AutoCast app project; selects five initial La Porte sites

"They recommend keeping audio under two minutes," the committee member said, and added that the app can accept multiple photos and longer descriptive text in a separate field. She said the vendor will handle data sizing and some editing, which reduces technical burden on the commission.
Commissioners reconfirmed the five sites chosen previously for initial AutoCast entries: the La Porte County Courthouse, the Railroad Depot, City Hall (the former post office), the new Swedenborgian Church, and the Civic Auditorium. "I have historic information on all of those sites," the chair said, offering that staff can assemble materials for submission.
Members discussed next steps, including coordinating with Dale Cooper (who is handling the contract connection to the app) and scheduling recording sessions. One member offered to meet immediately to begin assembling audio and image files.
The commission did not formalize a funding or sponsorship arrangement during the meeting; members noted that sponsor information could be added later in the app's description field.
