The Barrington Hills Board of Trustees voted on March 30 to authorize issuance of a notice of award for the village’s 2026 road program (Resolution 26‑03). Village staff reported favorable bid results and recommended proceeding with the award, which includes work on Rock Ridge, Spring Creek and Hawthorne Lane — a package the engineer estimated at roughly 1.8 miles of roadway.
Staff explained there were two bid alternatives: a base bid that did not include Hawthorne Lane and an alternate that added the shorter asphalt service for that segment. Trustees were told the larger‑than‑usual payable total this month ($457,566.67) is largely driven by a payment application of $199,006.77 to LZ Design Build Group for a facility remodel; otherwise staff described finances as generally within historical norms.
Trustees asked about mileage and cost comparisons to prior years and heard that prior multi‑year programs had covered more miles in past cycles. The motion to authorize the notice of award passed on roll call.
The board also agreed the reclamite/restriping and patching programs would continue and that additional road repairs would be brought to the board for future action.
