One trustee objected to the item’s late addition to the agenda and said board members had inadequate time to review the paperwork before voting. Another trustee warned that monthly payment plans increase administrative burden and favored a two-payment schedule tied to the semester to reduce staff time spent collecting payments. Administrators said most families who would be affected had already submitted open-enrollment paperwork and that the district would send final-forms materials within days if the board approved the item.
After more than an hour of discussion about application timing, payment schedules, and whether prior unpaid district fees should bar tuition approval, the board voted on a motion to table the tuition-application item until the next meeting. The motion passed by roll call, 3–2. The board directed administration to revise the application language to clarify payment deadlines, refund policy, residency verification and whether outstanding balances (meal debt, fees, device charges) would affect eligibility.
