Planning Commission recommends Title 13 zoning text amendments to City Council
Summary
The commission unanimously moved to recommend clarifying amendments to Title 13 (definitions, Section 13.6.4 established uses and text corrections) to the City Council after determining a prior motion from March had been legally ineffective due to agenda placement.
At its April 21 meeting the Monroe City Planning Commission addressed proposed clarifying amendments to the Monroe City Land Use Zoning Ordinance (Title 13). Chair Candice Barney said a prior March 17 motion to approve the amendments was legally ineffective because the action had not been separately listed on that meeting's agenda. To correct the record, the commission considered the amendments again and voted unanimously to recommend approval to the City Council.
The proposed changes include updates to definitions under Title 13.3.0, revisions to established uses in Section 13.6.4, and several text corrections intended to improve clarity and correctness, including the removal of wellhead protection zone columns from certain items. Commissioner Talon Gadd moved the recommendation; Commissioner David Riddle seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The recommendation forwards the amendments to the City Council for consideration and final action.
