At its May 11 regular meeting, the Village of Richland Council approved several routine financial measures and administrative updates.
Treasurer Jamie Ricca presented the treasurer’s report and the council voted to move money earmarked for police vehicles into a seven‑month certificate of deposit. The council also approved enrolling in Positive Pay, an automated bank service to reduce check and ACH fraud, with an annual cost not to exceed $360.
The council approved payment of the cash disbursement journal for April 2026. Clerk Mollie Fish reported there are three annual payments remaining on the installment loan for repaving D Avenue; the outstanding balance shown in the minutes is $46,179.37 with Huntington Bank.
Other routine committee updates included progress on a spring newsletter, consideration of DPW building improvements and a possible renewal of the Tree City USA designation. A sign quote from Tony at BNR was received and tabled until the June meeting when Trustee Kim Lewis may be present.
All listed motions in the minutes for agenda approval, minutes approval, the treasury actions and bills payable were recorded as carried.
