Higley superintendent highlights straight A campus grades and student achievements as school year ends

David Lotzenizer, superintendent of the Higley Unified School District, used a short end-of-year message to praise the district’s academic and extracurricular performance and to thank students, staff and the community.

“We're an A rated district with every campus earning an A letter grade,” Lotzenizer said, highlighting districtwide academic results. He also said two schools received A+ School of Excellence awards and that both of the district’s middle schools earned the Schools to Watch distinction.

Lotzenizer said the district’s state testing scores “outpaced the state averages” and added that Higley ranked highest in the East Valley; he did not provide specific score figures during the remarks. He also noted that athletics, arts programs and clubs took home “dozens of state championship medals and awards” over the school year.

The superintendent praised teachers and staff for peer recognition, calling it “a testament to the quality and expertise we have in our district,” and commended students for their community service and volunteer efforts.
