Board approves IXL software purchase and Mental Health America contract

Administration said the district proposes to use Medicaid dollars to fund the purchase so it will not come from the education fund; staff said this purchase was selected after classroom pilots and principals’ feedback. The board moved and approved the IXL contract by voice vote.
Administration also presented the 2026–27 base contract with Mental Health America Boone County (the transcript references minor date changes and removal of pre-K references). Officials said any future pre-K services would be added by separate agreement if needed; the board approved that contract as presented.
The district said staff will distribute Q&A documents to parents and staff about the IXL rollout and the cell-phone policy changes that will be implemented under state law in the coming months.
