Miss Elliott, district staff, told the committee the guidelines result from an ongoing process that began in February and included outreach to principals, administrators and law enforcement. "We go through a pretty lengthy process to ensure that we are obtaining stakeholder feedback from all across the district," she said, adding that the committee had received a small number of substantive changes as a consequence of that feedback.
Following the presentation the committee voted by voice to send the administrative guidelines to the full board for review. Miss Elliott asked that the item be placed on the full board agenda for its June 2 meeting.
The committee did not record a detailed roll-call vote in the transcript; the action was approved by voice. The committee's next meeting is scheduled for June 16 via Zoom.
