Pharmacist Lola Bey tells board she has remained sober and asks to end probation early

Lola Bey (agency case 7344, OAH 2026050189) sought early termination of a four-year probation imposed after a May 13, 2022 DUI conviction.
Bey told the committee she has remained abstinent since the incident, attends AA meetings and medical-professional support groups, and provides alcohol use disorder presentations twice a year at Concord Career College as part of community engagement. "These efforts have strengthened my commitment to long term sobriety," she said.
Deputy Attorney General Nicole Trauma described Bey's disciplinary history and compliance: Bey's license revocation was stayed and she was placed on probation that included daily Vault check-ins for drug and alcohol testing, random testing and program participation. Trauma noted four missed check-ins (03/03/2025, 07/15/2025, 03/01/2026 and 03/18/2026) but said Bey had no positive tests and the People did not object to granting the petition.
Bey explained the missed check-ins as technical login errors and increased work demands while training new staff; she said she added physical calendars and other safeguards to prevent recurrence. Bey also said she was not clinically appropriate for the Board's pharmacist recovery program (PRP) but participated in professional-support meetings and continued AA attendance.
The committee questioned Bey about the late missed check-ins and why they occurred well into her probationary term. Bey acknowledged the missed entries, accepted responsibility and described the safeguards she implemented afterward.
By agreement of the parties, the matter was submitted and the record closed; ALJ Patrice Huber said the committee would deliberate in closed session and issue a written decision at a later date.
