A staff member read a nomination letter describing Trotter’s outreach to inmates, fundraising for materials and sustained volunteer commitment since 2023. "It is an honor to nominate Miss Christina Boyd Trotter for the 2025 volunteer of the year award in recognition for her extraordinary commitment and compassionate service," the letter reads.
Board members stood to recognize Trotter and thanked volunteers for their support of in‑custody programs. The presentation was followed by the superintendent’s operational report.
